SUMMARY:Translating Freight Investments Case Studies
DESCRIPTION:During this session\, we will share emerging case studies that provide insights into how freight-significant projects generate corridor-level\, regional\, and national benefits\, and how these examples can support decision-making and funding conversations with leadership and legislators. Three of the Case Studies address freight and passenger rail improvements and involve multiple railroads; the fourth is an ongoing bi-state bridge project with substantial benefits to a nationally significant trucking corridor. \nA calendar invite with the meeting link will follow titled “Translating Freight Investments Case Studies.” We hope you can join us for this presentation and a discussion of the findings. \nIf you have other public sector staff in your agency who you believe would benefit from this session\, please email Sabrina Causley at scausely@tetcoalition.org and a calendar invite will be provided.

SUMMARY:Move Over Law Webinar
DESCRIPTION:TETC is pleased to present the findings of the SCOOP Initiative Move Over Laws Across the Eastern Transportation Coalition: Assessment\, Outreach\, and Implementation. This report presents a comprehensive assessment of Move Over Laws across member agencies of The Eastern Transportation Coalition\, including legal requirements\, public outreach practices\, enforcement challenges\, campaign development\, and member-specific implementation recommendations. The report is intended to support more consistent\, accurate\, and practical Move Over Law communication\, enforcement support\, and implementation across the TETC region and provides recommendations/next steps on how TETC can support members in the future in this critical safety area. \nThe findings will be presented in a webinar to be held on October 21st from 1:30pm-2:30pm. We are pleased to have this presentation by the report author\, Scott Parr PhD.\, Professor and Interim Department Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. \nThis report brings together five related areas of work related to Move Over Laws. First\, it synthesizes existing Move Over Laws across TETC member jurisdictions. Second\, it assesses public outreach and education practices among participating member agencies. Third\, it evaluates enforcement practices and enforcement-related challenges. Fourth\, it presents a unified public awareness campaign framework built around the regional message “Slow Down. Move Over. Stay Alert.” and the secondary human-centered theme “Everyone Gets Home.” Fifth\, it provides individualized member-state implementation recommendations to help agencies communicate and implement their existing laws more accurately and effectively. Finally\, the report provides recommendations on how TETC may support members with technical assistance\, peer exchange\, regional coordination\, and updates to shared Move Over Law resources. Please contact Sabrina Causley at scausley@tetcoalition.org for more information.

SUMMARY:Safety Service Patrol (SSP) Response to Minor Incidents - Lessons Learned Presentation
DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Transportation Coalition is pleased to present the findings of the “SCOOP” Initiative: Temporary Traffic Control Guidance for Safety Service Patrol Response to Minor Incidents. The findings will be presented in a webinar to be held on November 2nd from 11am-12pm  EST. \nSafety Service Patrols (SSPs) play an important role in traffic incident management by assisting motorists\, supporting responders\, removing minor incidents and obstructions\, and helping reduce the likelihood of secondary crashes. Because SSP operators often arrive early at incident scenes\, including minor incidents\,  and may be working alone with only the equipment carried on a service vehicle\, they must make rapid decisions about temporary traffic control under constrained field conditions. \nThis report examines temporary traffic control practices used by Safety Service Patrol programs during minor incidents and short-duration service calls. The findings synthesize current agency practices\, transferable case study examples\, and MUTCD-related considerations to support practical\, scalable\, and decision-based SSP temporary traffic control guidance.  The project findings support a practical path forward. SSP-specific TTC guidance that should preserve flexibility while providing clearer decision criteria for common minor-incident scenarios. By organizing guidance around field decisions\, scalable deployment\, operator safety\, quick clearance\, upstream warning\, and demonstrated competency\, agencies can better support SSP operators as they manage minor incidents and short-duration service calls under demanding roadway conditions. \nWe are pleased to have this presentation by the report author\, Scott Parr PhD.\, Professor and Interim Department Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. \nPlease join us for this important presentation. If there are other agency staff  you believe would benefit from participating in this webinar\, please contact Sabrina Causley at scausley@tetcoalition.org.
