Under the direction of the Director of Freight Planning, the Principal Planner: Freight Planning will be responsible for performing a full range of technical planning, research, analysis, contributions to written materials, and outreach activities in the specialized field of freight and goods movement planning. The job requires knowledge of goods movement, freight and supply chains, the application of tools of analysis, the ability to research freight and related topics and produce reports, as well as the ability to effectively engage and interact with industry stakeholders as well as other public and private agencies and interests.

The NJTPA is the federally authorized Metropolitan Planning Organization for 6.7 million people in the 13-county northern New Jersey region.
